Cardiology

The Cardiology unit in Al Yousif Hospital is operated 24/7 with the most experienced, highest caliber cardiologists.  The services provided include cardiovascular diseases and emergency cases. Dentistry

The department of Dentistry provides a variety of services related to oral cavity treatments and surgeries.  The dentists and dental assistants are highly qualified, well equipped, and utilize the most advanced technologies to fit the patients’ needs.

& Venereology

The Department of Dermatology & Venereology offers a comprehensive range of skin treatments for adults and children based on the patient’s need. All minor procedures such as  cautery, and removal of cysts are done under local anesthesia; however, do not include intralesional injection, peeling (chemical), and comedown extraction

ENT

The Ear, Nose and Throat department specializes in treating surgical and medical conditions of the head and neck.  ENT specialists treat all common functional diseases that affects the patients’ senses and any related activities. The ENT department provides advanced technology treatments for both major and minor surgeries.

Surgery

Al Yousif Hospital provides the best patient surgical experience to-date. The General Surgical Department performs all general procedures including alimentary canal and abdominal contents.  All operations are performed with the most advanced technology available.  In addition, the department covers all accidental emergency cases 24/7.  Outpatient services are also given and provided by professional staff to ensure the highest quality of service to patients.

& Gynecology

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is committed to always providing the best quality services for women, mothers, and newborns. The department makes use of the finest equipment and highest caliber staff to deliver the patient a comfortable, seamless experience.  We strive to offer comprehensive services step by step throughout the patient journey whether it starts with pregnancy or helping patients diagnose cancer, cervical disorder or even infections at an early stage.

Obstetrics & Gynecology is always in coordination with pediatric, neonatology, and anesthesia departments to ensure best practices are followed with the highest calibrated staff, and also to ensure the continuous support with matters related to pain management, pregnancy follow ups, natural and cesarean section childbirth.

One of the top priorities of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department is to ensure good health and well-being for its patients.  This is done by offering them guidance on the prevention of diseases as well as advice on the latest methods for screening diseases and treatment, if required.

Orthopedics

& Trauma Care

The Department of Orthopedics provides treatments for all kinds of musculo-skeletal problems ranging from arthritis to sports injuries, complex fractures, and childhood conditions like scoliosis & spinal diseases. The department specializes in the latest techniques and treatments such as minimally invasive surgery, hand surgery, deformity correction surgery, releasing tendons and nerves compression, and all types of local injection

Pediatrics

& Neonatology

The pediatric department provides medical care for infants, children, and adolescents including emergencies and consultation.  The pediatric department covers inpatients services and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

(NICU).

The Department of Urology offers all services related to urological disorders in male and female urology in addition to pediatric urology. One of the main features the urology department focuses on is the treatment of male impotence and fertility.

Emergency

Our medical staff is trained for rapid intervention response for all medical emergencies and critical conditions.  The department is staffed with only the highest skilled personnel to manage patient conditions including cardiopulmonary arrest and peri-arrest, dealing with surgical emergencies like wounds, burns, fractures, and handling a wide range of medical emergencies such as arrhythmia, hyper and hypoglycemia, severe hypertension, abnormalities of breathing, and acute pain.

Infection

Control

The infection Control unit reduces the risk of endemic, epidemic, and healthcare-associated infections to both patients and healthcare workers. AYH provides continuous education and training to all staff regarding infection control practices on a monthly basis, new hire orientation, and during the release of new guidelines from MOH.

• Making rounds and auditing all the departments to ensure policy compliance
• Provide and support occupational health and safety to all staff through screening, immunization, and post-exposure management, annual influenza vaccination, PPD test
• Monitor adherence to different care bundles (VAP, CAUTI, CLABSI, SSI, MDRO) to prevent the risk of healthcare-associated infections
• Provide on-site training and education to patients, families, and visitors regarding hand hygiene, cough etiquette, tuberculosis management and treatment, MERS-CoV, H1N1, and other emerging diseases

Pharmacy

Al Yousif Hospital’s Pharmacy is committed to providing the highest standards of quality and safety by providing cost-effective inpatient and outpatient pharmaceutical services to all customers

Available Services:

• Serve in an evaluative, educational, and advisory capacity to the medical / nursing staff and hospital management in all matters pertaining to the use of medications.
• Develop and approve criteria for selecting medications that include specific indications, effectiveness, risks (potential for medication errors, abuse potential, and sentinel events), or costs
• Establish programs and procedures that help maintain safe and cost- effective drug therapy.
• Establishing and planning suitable educational programs for the hospital’s professional staff on matters related to medication usage
• Establish evidence-based therapeutic guidelines in accordance to the hospital’s scope of services (e.g., intravenous iron, intravenous immunoglobulin, albumin, heparin, high alert medications, and electrolyte management guidelines).

The Department of Dietary at Al Yousif Hospital provides complete nutritional services to meet the needs and expectations of both inpatients and outpatients.  Whether it’s educational services to patient and family, or nutritional and therapeutic needs, this department provides 24/7 services to our patients. Nutritionists evaluate the patient’s diet based on nutritional diagnosis that prioritize nutritional needs, personal preference, and food habits, to fit the patient nutritional care outcome.
